BRENTON DUVALL: BEAT GAME J.D. SALINGER (HEARTBEAT REMIX)

Without any warning, or justification–or really any kind of reason Brenton Duvall The Tossed God dropped a new song today!  The song is a remix of Childish Gambino’s “Heartbeat” and it’s markedly bittersweet.  The Tossed God has tweeted that he worked on this song and never really did anything with it, (virtuosic as it is.)  So, we should count ourselves lucky that he ended up releasing it, and try not to further torture ourselves with what magical songs he has on his computer that we’ll never hear. [ I've been waiting on this shit to drop since he tweeviewed it (previewed it on twitter, I just invented that word swag swag.)]

I digress, focusing on the song and not the mythology that’s developing here, the best part of Brenton drops is the knowing and not knowing that comes with them.  You know you’re going to get a quality, catchy, ambient, chill ass masterpiece, but you don’t really know how he’s going to do it.  While Brenton definitely has a style it’s hard to put a finger on it.  His drum work is getting better, and he seems to be infusing small amounts of industrial sounding accents and inflections in his most recent work.  He’s predictably unpredictable.  Church. Preach.  Tabernacle son.
